Welcome to MathBio@UM. We’re a group of people at the University of Manitoba interested in mathematical biology related research and training. We are mostly located in the Department of Mathematics, but we have members from other departments as well. We are also keen to connect with other people in Manitoba working in mathematical biology or theoretical biology more broadly.

Our research encompasses a variety of topics in mathematical biology, including:

  • population dynamics and mathematical epidemiology
  • combinatorial and topological methods in biomolecular processes
  • ecological transient dynamics
  • cellular signaling and evolutionary dynamics
  • computational modelling of cellular structures

This site is a place to share information about our activities, including our weekly meetings and other events as well as research related information.

For faculty members, we have short descriptions of our research interests and links to our personal web pages. You can also find information about our current trainees and former trainees, as well as training activities and opportunities to get involved in mathematical biology research at the University of Manitoba.
